Gatekeepers of the body

Annabelle’s debut solo show has finally launched at BasementArts project.

Open to the public until 22nd Dec 2024. See website for opening times, appointments, and tour guides.

Gatekeepers of the Body is a sculptural show about contraception, trauma, and personal issues around reproductive and mental health. Annabelle aims to create a space to invite you to reflect on and discuss these subjects to build awareness and knowledge of the problems perpetuated by the patriarchial and capitalist structures within the medical establishment.

Annabelle works as creative wellbeing tutor, helping adults from all walks of life with mental health challenges that are a barrier towards independence and work. Using art and creativity as a vehicle of understanding and connection, she teaches confidence, resilience, self-care, positive thinking, mindset, and various other pillars of wellbeing.
